We are seeking submissions for a three dimensional creative art installation that will visually transform the laneway space and dynamically connect, provoke and resonate with the public who interact with it. We challenge the creative community to submit ideas for an installation that will act as a dynamic entranceway into the city centre for those walking through the laneway.
We are looking for creatives who think outside the box and understand that installation art engages you on multiple levels, activating your senses to experience art in a new way. The focus should be on the idea, how it is dynamically visually presented, the central message and the impact it will have. Installation art should make those who view it stop and think.
As a creative piece we are looking for you to set a theme. We are looking for creatives who can create an installation that is evocative contemporary and relevant. Consider the purpose of your art installation is it to provoke conscious thought? To inspire? To uplift? To celebrate our environment?
The Grey Street Laneway which connects with the Spring Street Carpark building presents an opportunity for creatives to develop a dynamic creative art installation that will transform this space.
All submissions must be in by the Friday 27th November.
The installation should be designed to be temporary in nature and will remain in place for 3 months.
- It should be designed to be suspended from the ceiling beams in the laneway and as such be lightweight in nature
- A broad range of materials can be considered
- The installation should play with colour, light and texture
- At least two thirds of the laneway should form part of the installation for the purpose of impact.
- The installation should be contemporary not traditional
- The installation should be respectful of the businesses that face into the alleyway
