The Kotahitanga Exhibition explored unity in our community. In this digital and interactive exhibition we asked attendees what diversity and unity meant to them. We explored the meaning of Kotahitanga; the history of the Kotahitanga movement and what greater unity in our community could look like.
This exhibition also featured LAND OF VOYAGERS. T– the audio-visual story of the greatest human migration of all time – the voyage of discovery undertaken over 4,000 years by our Polynesian tupuna. Land of Voyagers is a legacy project led by Dunedin Entrepreneur Ian Taylor – Maori Business Leader of the Year (2013), New Zealand Innovator of the Year (2019) and founder of Animation Research Ltd (which pioneered the use of animated 3D graphics for TV coverage of sport). Ian described this initiative as “the most important work of his life” and the Land of Voyagers has been created as koha; a gift for all New Zealanders, especially our rangatahi/youth.
